The RCC Portrait and Wedding students recently took part in the 2023 Mock Wedding. This event, organized by the Department of Photographic Technology, has been a staple for many years. Its primary goal is to provide students with valuable hands-on experience and insight into the intricacies of capturing wedding moments. By participating in the Mock Wedding, students have the opportunity to understand and engage in the process of documenting a wedding, honing their skills in a practical setting. The Department’s continued sponsorship of this event ensures that students are well-equipped to handle the demands of covering real weddings in the future.

Lumen Project

In the Intro Digital Imaging class, students merged the classic method of producing lumen prints with modern digital imaging tools, resulting in the captivating images showcased above. This innovative approach provides an excellent opportunity to utilize outdated black and white traditional printing paper. Each emulsion exhibits a distinct response, which can be further enhanced through the digital process following scanning.

Fabric Assignment

The first-year photography students were assigned a project in product lighting, which required them to style and illuminate a fabric of their preference. This particular skill set holds significance not only for commercial photographers, but also for portrait and wedding photographers.
