RCC is a hands on photography degree program that has been focusing on the fundamentals of photography for over 50 years. In the 1st-year Basic Portrait class, students experiment with using shadows to convey a message based on an assigned word. This unique project challenges students to think creatively and develop their skills in photography
Here is a selection of final product lighting assignments from first-year photography students. Students were introduced to using power packs as a studio lighting tool after practicing lighting basics with continuous light sources.
Jessie Jordan and Abygail Patterson demonstrate panning technique for a PHO 110 Fundamentals of Photography class assignment on shutter speeds. Images were taken with medium format cameras, Kodak T-Max film and hand printed in the darkroom.
