Small Format Photography students work on a focal length and perspective lab in class. Students photographed objects at different focal lengths but kept the object size the same in the view finder and have writing prompts after image capture.
Photojournalism student Tyler Brock won the A.Dorian Memorial Student Award during the Center for Visual Artists (CVA) Greensboro’s photo biennial CAPTURE 2016 Juried Photo Exhibition on Friday, Sept. 2.
The photograph “Gus the Bus” was a long exposure image of a bus in a field, with gelled strobes on the inside and star trails in the sky.
Students in the RCC Small Format Photography class learned to shoot with the long 300mm f2.8 lenses during a lab on campus as seen from the school’s drone.

Small Format Photography Assignment ‘Eyes’.
First year photography students had their first weekly themed assignment for the summer’s Small Format Photography class. The class focuses on photographing strangers and this week, students had to find a stranger, compose and light an image that featured the subject’s eyes. Shawna found Albert Winslow in Winston-Salem.
