Students were assigned to create an image using a tilt shift lens or Lensbaby lens to demonstrate selective focus. One effect that can be created is the “toy town” or “miniature scene” look as Nicole did at a Charlotte Knights baseball game.

This week students were encouraged to start a lighting file of images they like, to start their file they were assigned to choose an example image a photographer’s web site were they explained their portrait lighting and emulate the lighting style to successfully create the same technique.

Framing is the technique of drawing attention to the subject of your image. This can also be used as a way to layer an image as you construct it.
