RCC Grad named PPA Certified Professional Photographer


Sarah Mitchell, owner of Sarah Lynn Studios, has earned the prestigious title of Certified Professional Photographer from Professional Photographers of America. According to PPA, “the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) credential serves to identify professional photographers who have demonstrated technical competence through a written examination and photographic image submission.”

In 2016, Sarah earned her degree in Photographic Technology, Portrait Studio Management. Sarah’s studio, based in Rockwell, NC, serves clients in the counties of Cabarrus, Davidson, Rowan and North Mecklenberg.

Graduate Nick Grancharoff part of winning team



RCC Commercial Photography graduate Nick Grancharoff  was part of a winning team entry in the 22nd Annual Communicator Awards. Nick’s photography, including the cover of The Zachry Force Report was part of the Jeff Heinke Designs winning entry, winning for overall writing, photography and design in a employee publication: 2016 Silver Award of Distinction: Zachry Force Report January-February 2016 Employee Publication – Newsletter.

The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program recognizing big ideas in marketing and communications. Founded two decades ago, The Communicator Awards receives over 6,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes, making it one of the largest awards of its kind in the world.

The show is ready, will you be here opening night?

The Jerry Howell Lecture Series welcomes next guest speaker Raymond McCrea Jones, a 2004 RCC photo graduate, speaking about self projects and his newest project – “Birth of a Warrior”

Open to the public and free to attend!

When? Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 at 7pm – the night will also be the opening of his show of images from the project in the hallway gallery. The show will be open till March 4 – Monday through Friday,  when the college is open and classes in session.
