Legendary photographer Burk Uzzle will be speaking at Randolph Community College in the Department of Photographic Technology on Sept. 16th at 7pm.
The lecture is free and open to the public as part of the school’s Jerry Howell Lecture series.
Burk has been an active photographer for nearly six decades and is still going strong. He was an active contributor and former president of the Magnum cooperative, worked as a photographer for Life magazine and has collections of his work in many museums throughout the United States. Born in North Carolina, Burk’s first professional job was with the News & Observer, before working for Black Star Agency, Life Magazine and photographing Woodstock in 1969, his photo was used on the Woodstock Album cover.
